Iowa pays former inmate $15K to settle COVID care lawsuit

The state has agreed to pay $15,000 to a former inmate convicted of more than a dozen felonies after he sued in 2024 for negligence over medical care he received while serving time at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in 2022.
