Maryland seeks new contractors for $4.8B Key Bridge construction

After dropping the initial contractor for the Key Bridge rebuilding, Maryland is seeking four new contractors to finish the massive construction project, the state's Department of Transportation announced Tuesday. The state is separating the work into four contracts, with construction on the main span expected to start in the summer of 2027. Together, the contracts will cost between $4.05 billion and $4.8 billion.
