Alabama Medicaid restricts nurse practitioners from autism therapy referrals

Alabama Medicaid announced this week that starting next month, doctors will need approval to refer patients with autism to applied behavioral therapy. The change will also stop nurse practitioners from making those referrals under Medicaid.
