In the Catskill Mountains, where art, music and storytelling have long shaped the identity of small communities tucked among the peaks, something essential had gone missing: local journalism. As newspapers disappeared and coverage faded, residents were left without a consistent source to document their lives, hold institutions accountable and capture the spirit of the region.
