Campers, coaches, families celebrate ability, friendship, sport during rugby match

One of the camp's biggest events is the yearly wheelchair rugby match between Ability First athletes and rugby players from Chico Oaks, who also play in wheelchairs. The match, which has been around for more than 20 years, was renamed to the Eric Snedeker Rugby Match in honor of the camp's founder. Snedeker was a former Chico State adaptive physical education professor who died in 2025 at age 73 after a battle with cancer.
