14K West Virginians have lost food assistance because of Big Beautiful Bill changes

As of July 2026, changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or food stamps, implemented following the signing of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law has left 14,000 West Virginians without or with lessened SNAP benefits. Some have also struggled to meet work requirements.
