Histories: Gillette man starts 1,600-mile walk to Nashville to promote his music in 1988

Dave Stewart’s feet are beginning to feel the wear. The Gillette man is attempting to walk the 1,600 miles to Nashville, Tennessee to promote himself and the country-western songs he writes. He left on his cross-country journey on April 30, heading toward Wright and Douglas. On Thursday, Stewart reached Douglas, where he was the focus of a reception and the object of questions from television, radio and newspaper reporters.
