Weezer's 'The Gold Album' Shines Like ... You Know

Veteran alt rock band Weezer with their new self-titled album nicknamed 'The Gold Album.' (Credit: Reprise Records) It is difficult to envision two bands within the same musical genre, yet farther apart from each other than Creedence Clearwater Revival and Weezer. The former was a product of the late 1960s San Francisco Bay Area, yet musically was anything but reflective of the psychedelic era of its locale, instead featuring Deep South-flavored, straightforward rockin’ boogie.
